AICI Mt. States Member Highlight - Judith Rasband

I first fell in love with fashion in Portland, Oregon when I first saw the original Pendleton wool reversible skirts with their wonderful lines, colors, texture, and reversed pattern. I was thrilled to be able to have one, then high-priced for a skirt, at $30. Amazing how inflation raises the price. I was sold on high quality from the start.

By day I work with my staff and clients, by night I work on my creative writing projects—it’s quiet and the phones don’t ring. My bucket list is long!

Image is important because it affects you, your quality of life, and the achievement of your goals.

My business focuses on the physical, psychological, social, and artistic aspects of dress and image—with effects on the individual, the family, and society at large.

My favorite designer? I don’t have a favorite designer, but I do have favorite designs. Too often and depending on the designer, designer clothing is not worth having. Even then, I am selective. One season one designer or design house may have one or two things that may be magnificent—but the price is into five figures and well beyond my comfort level, even for my educational demonstration collection. We have pieces or outfits representative of many fine designers and brands. I do, do a lot of Ou-u-u-u-ing and Ah-h-h-h-ing over the Peruvian Connection catalog and do place orders periodically.

I started my business because people kept asking me to do with them what I was doing with my university students. It was an easy start-up and just kept growing and growing. It’s still growing in very exciting directions.

What Mountain State do you do business in? All of them, nationwide, worldwide. It’s amazing. Never did I dream I would be doing what I am doing today. Life is amazing!

My best fashion advice is to become totally aware of how your dress and grooming affect you, others, and the achievement of your goals—then to present an appearance in harmony with your roles and goals. That covers every aspect of image management.

What's next.... I am currently working on several projects, completing new consulting and business materials for my Conselle affiliates and my image education partner in India. My mind is always on “What’s next?”

AICI Mt. States Member Highlight - Marian Rothschild

I first fell in love with fashion when my best friend came to kindergarten picture day in an Alice in Wonderland dress. It was heavenly. It was forest green with puffy sleeves and a full skirt. The best part was the white pinafore over the top. I coveted that dress. It was breathtaking.

By day I consult, shop, analyze, communicate, edit, enlighten, empower. By night I sleep.

Image is important because your appearance sends an immediate non-verbal message of who you are to everyone who sees you.

My business focuses on empowering successful professionals with information so they can feel confident, attractive, and genuine for every situation.

Who is your favorite designer? Cynthia Rowley

I started my business because it is the culmination of everything I have done in the past.

What Mountain State do you do business in? Colorado

Share your best fashion advice or tip: Take chances in fashion, that is what fashion is all about expression, art, feelings and communicating messages. Add a pop of color, try a new print, makeup shade or a new style. Right now I am loving colorful tights, pleated / high waisted skirts and bright colorful pants.Readers can join my eNewsletter for free tips and an eBook on image or follow my Examiner.com column.

What are you currently working on? I just finished helping with the marketing of Colorado Fashion Week and have been buckling down on writing a book focusing on reputation management. For the holidays I will be partnering with Stella & Dot jewelry rep Britany Crown for a Holiday Extravagnaza. I also have a few new clients coming on board for the marketing side of my business and started teaching classes at Colorado Free University, helping people upgrade their style to enter back into the business world or update their current business look.

AICI Mt. States Member Highlight - Tina Gill

I first fell in love with fashion when...

Tina was raised in a small town in Nebraska where she went to garage sales with her mom and big sis every Saturday since she could remember.  She was a trend setter early on being the first to wear jelly shoes and "capri" pants in her grade school (and consequently was made fun of). She knew at a very young age that you didn't have to have a lot of money or a gigantic closet to look great. That remains her belief today...it is not the quantity of clothing but the quality and fit of the clothing that truly matters

Have you been featured in any press/media?

Since launching her business in 2008, Tina has been featured in a variety of local and national media including Out Front Colorado, Reverie Magazine, Denver Life, 5280 Magazine blog, ehow.com, about.com, Couture Colorado, Examiner.com, Fox 31 and The Everyday Show.

Image is important because?

Image is important because it gives you the opportunity to tell everyone who you are and what you want to say before you ever speak one word.

My business focuses on:

worthwhile style works with a variety of individuals who all share one thing in common: they’re in some form of transition. Whether you are a new mom, a bride-to-be, recently celebrated a significant birthday, starting a new job, trying to get a promotion, recently divorced, or just sent the kids off to college, we can help you look and feel your best.  We also work with individuals that simply don’t like to shop or are bored or unhappy with their current wardrobe.

Where were you trained?

Tina was trained and received her certification as an Image Consultant in New York City through the Image Resource Center of NY.  In addition to her training, she is an avid reader of books about style, body types, color, fit, and proportion and of course, fashion magazines.

I started my business because?
Tina launched her business after discovering that so many people don’t love who they are or how they look.  She wants every person to be able to look in the mirror and think, “Damn, I look good.” Armed with her degree in Psychology, her extensive background in customer service, and her love for shopping, Tina shines at helping individuals to look and feel their best.  With her contagious laugh and outgoing personality, Tina’s specialty is empowering individuals to be comfortable with who they are right now in their lives.

What Mountain State do you do business in? Denver CO

Share your best fashion advice or tip or favorite quote:

“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line.” -Lucille Ball

What are you currently working on?

In addition to working with private clients, Tina is the Wardrobe Stylist for Wilhelmina Denver where she plays an integral role on the creative team working with new models during the image consults, commercial and fashion shoots.  She is currently represented by Wilhelmina Denver as one of four Wardrobe Stylists in their Artist Division, providing styling services locally and nationally.

Tina is also and Independent Style Advisor for J. Hilburn, a men’s custom clothier based out of Dallas TX where she works with male clients building their wardrobe one affordable luxury piece at a time.

Fun Facts:

Super Power: having a low-delight level...it doesn’t take much to get her excited!
Favorite Color:  orange- the “people person” color
Secret Obsession: TV: HGTV, funny sitcoms, The Cooking Channel, NFL football (and the Huskers)
Favorite Holiday: Halloween
When Tina is not working with clients or styling photo shoots, you can find her hanging out with her husband TJ and her dog Bella relaxing on the couch, spending time with her friends and family, or of course, shopping.
